West Chester Police Apprehend Cherry Hill Man on Multiple Charges Following Store Break-In

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department announced the arrest of a New Jersey man following a store break-in.

The criminal complaint alleges that in the early hours of October 23, 2023, the West Chester Police Department was called to the Giant supermarket on Downingtown Pike in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The police were responding to a report of a male intruder inside the store outside of business hours.

The suspect was identified as Michael Marchetti, a 23-year-old male from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Upon arrival, officers found that Marchetti had gained unlawful access to the premises by damaging a locked entrance door.

The authorities promptly arrested Marchetti on multiple charges, including criminal trespass, possessing instruments of crime, criminal mischief, and public drunkenness. Following his arrest, Marchetti was transported to Chester County Prison.

Marchetti is now awaiting his preliminary hearing at District Court 15-1-01. This incident is documented under the report ID WC-23-32866.
