WEST CHESTER, PA — On December 1, 2023, West Chester Police responded to a call at the Everhart Condos on 420 N. Everhart St. following reports of someone screaming. Upon arrival, officers found that an alleged assault had taken place inside one of the apartments.

The resident, 49-year-old James Brock of West Chester, became belligerent while officers were speaking with him. According to the report, when police attempted to take Brock into custody, he allegedly resisted and headbutted an officer in the face, causing injury.

Despite the resistance, officers were eventually able to apprehend Brock and transport him to the West Chester Police Department. He was processed on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, and misuse of 911 communications.

Following processing, Brock was transported to Chester County Prison for arraignment. A preliminary hearing regarding these allegations is pending at District Court 15-1-01.

These charges are allegations and not declarations of guilt. Brock, like all suspects, arrestees, or defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
