WEST CHESTER, PA — On Friday, a jury convicted 40-year-old Luis Miguel Aguilar Dircio of West Chester of aggravated indecent assault of a child, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minors, and related charges, announced Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan. He will be sentenced at a later date.

“The victim believed that coming to the United States was an opportunity for a new, safe life, and instead, was met with horror and abuse,” said Ryan. “The defendant took advantage of the child by inflicting horrific abuse and by threatening the life of her father if she reported it. We thank West Goshen Police Department, the Chester County Detectives, and prosecutors involved that fought for justice for the victim.”

According to the information presented in court, on April 9, 2021, Chester County Detectives were dispatched to meet with a 10-year-old victim for reports of child abuse. A forensic interview was completed at the Chester County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), where the child stated that the defendant, Luis Miguel Aguilar Dircio, sexually assaulted her on at least seven separate occasions from April 2018 to April 2021. She reported that the sexual assaults began when she was 7 years old.

The defendant had paid for the victim and her mother to be brought to the United States from Honduras in April 2018. The victim reported that twelve days after she arrived, the defendant began to sexually abuse her. The abuse occurred at a residence in West Goshen Township.

The victim said that from April 2018 until April 2021, the defendant would sexually assault her by touching her chest and private parts on multiple occasions while her mother was asleep or at work. She also stated that the defendant had sent her nude images of himself on at least two occasions. Police learned that the defendant had threatened the child by telling her he was going to kill the victim’s father if the abuse was reported to law enforcement.
