WEST CHESTER, PA — A local man has been arrested on sexual assault charges, announced the West Chester Police Department.
Porfirio Varela, age 32, has been charged with Aggravated Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Indecent Assault.
The criminal complaint alleges that on August 3, 2023, a Victim Child (person under 18 years of age) reported to the West Chester Police Department a sexual assault by someone known to them. After an investigation conducted by the West Chester Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit, an arrest was made and charges were filed.
Porfirio Varela from West Chester, PA was taken into custody on October 4, 2023. A preliminary hearing is pending at Chester County Magisterial District Court 15-1-01.
