WEST CHESTER, PA — In the early hours of October 19, 2024, the West Chester Borough Police Department encountered an individual who is now at the center of serious allegations involving drug-related offenses and evasion of law enforcement. Zhyair Thompson, 32, a resident of West Chester, became the subject of police attention during an unrelated matter on West Gay Street.
Officers attempted to stop Thompson at approximately 1:55 AM, prompting him to flee the scene on foot. The pursuit led authorities to North Darlington Street, where Thompson was ultimately apprehended. Upon his capture, it is alleged that he was found in possession of a significant quantity of a controlled substance, along with materials commonly associated with drug use.
Following his arrest, Thompson was transported to Chester County Prison, where he faced arraignment on multiple charges. These include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and evading arrest or detention on foot.
