West Chester Assault: Suspect Allegedly Attacks Two Women, Steals Cell Phone

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department announced the arrest of a 32-year-old West Chester resident in connection to a violent robbery on the 50 block of N. Church St that occurred Friday mo.

Gerardo Guzman-Gonzalez has been charged with, Robbery, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Assault, and Harassment.

The criminal complaint alleges that on July 7, 2023, at approximately 7:20 am, the West Chester Police Department was dispatched to the 50 block of N. Church St for a report of an assault. Through an investigation, it was determined that 32-year-old Gerardo Guzman-Gonzalez of West Chester assaulted two females causing injury to their face. During the course of the first assault, Guzman-Gonzalez took the victim’s cell phone.

Guzman-Gonzalez was located a short time later and was taken into custody while in possession of the victim’s phone. He was processed and transported to Chester County Prison where he awaits a preliminary hearing.
