KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A routine traffic stop in Kennett Square resulted in the arrest of a Maryland man after officers discovered he was wanted on an active warrant.
The incident occurred on February 25, 2025, at approximately 8:06 p.m., when Kennett Square Police observed a blue SUV make an illegal left turn on a red light at the intersection of South Union Street and West Cypress Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 28-year-old Brian King of Edgewood, Maryland.
During the stop, King admitted to running the red light. A subsequent record check through the National Crime Information Center revealed that he had an active warrant out of Baltimore, Maryland. King was taken into custody without incident and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison.
King faces a charge of being a fugitive from justice. Authorities remind the public that an arrest is an allegation, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
