Wanted Man Caught with Loaded Gun and Heroin in Wilmington Arrest

WILMINGTON, DE — A 35-year-old Wilmington man, Nahreem Qaadir-Bey, has been arrested and charged with multiple gun and drug-related offenses, in addition to an outstanding warrant, according to law enforcement officials.

The arrest occurred on January 16, 2025, when members of the Safe Streets Task Force encountered Qaadir-Bey in the 700 block of North Clayton Street. Authorities identified him as a wanted individual and detained him without incident.

During the arrest, police reported recovering a loaded .45 caliber handgun and approximately 0.9 grams of heroin from Qaadir-Bey’s possession.

Qaadir-Bey now faces charges that include possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited (two counts), carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and has been committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution with bail set at $15,200 cash-only.

Officials stress that all charges are considered allegations, and Qaadir-Bey is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Further updates may follow as the case unfolds.
