Romero revealed that Gregory Fiocca, a 32-year-old Philadelphia resident, entered a guilty plea on Monday to charges of unlawfully demanding money in his capacity as a union representative. The plea was made before United States District Court Judge Jeffrey L. Schmehl, addressing a superseding information that accused Fiocca of soliciting payment for hours not worked, with the amount in question not exceeding $1,000.
Fiocca is slated for sentencing on January 7, 2025, where he faces a statutory maximum penalty of up to one year in prison. Additionally, the potential sentence includes one year of supervised release, a fine reaching $10,000, and a $25 special assessment. This sentencing aims to reflect the seriousness of financial misconduct and to deter similar offenses within union settings.
