WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department has apprehended Kevin Dota-Jaramillo, 19, of Malvern, Pennsylvania, along with two juvenile suspects, in connection with a series of alleged vehicle-related crimes. The arrests follow an investigation into incidents that occurred on September 11, 2024.
On that day, at approximately 4:07 PM, officers responded to a reported theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of Downingtown Pike. Upon arrival, police discovered that several vehicles in the area had been broken into and vandalized during the same timeframe. Later, at 5:15 PM, a separate report came in about a stolen vehicle from a parking lot located on the 300 block of West Gay Street.
Through diligent investigative work, officers identified that these incidents were allegedly executed by the same group of three suspects. The investigation culminated in the arrest of Dota-Jaramillo and one of the juvenile suspects on October 1, 2024, followed by the apprehension of the second juvenile on October 10, 2024.
The charges against the suspects include theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle, criminal conspiracy, among other related offenses. All individuals involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The West Chester Police Department continues its inquiry into these events as they work to piece together the full scope of the alleged activities. Further legal proceedings are expected as the investigation progresses.
