HARRISBURG, PA — Stanley Sabatel, a major supplier to a Luzerne County drug trafficking organization, was sentenced this past week to 16½ to 33 years in prison following his conviction on multiple felony charges. This decision marks a significant victory in the fight against large-scale drug trafficking in Pennsylvania.

Sabatel, 26, was convicted by a Luzerne County jury of a series of charges, including conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver methamphetamine. His role as a supplier to the drug operation facilitated the distribution of substantial quantities of methamphetamine, contributing to the availability of the substance among street-level dealers in the region.

Attorney General Michelle Henry emphasized the importance of the collaborative law enforcement efforts that led to Sabatel’s conviction. “Our work with the Pennsylvania State Police, local law enforcement agencies, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security allowed us to bring down a top drug trafficker who was regularly supplying pounds of methamphetamine to street-level dealers throughout Luzerne County,” said Henry. “This sentence not only is holding the defendant accountable for his crimes, but is one big step towards making our communities safer.”

The investigation uncovered that Sabatel and a co-conspirator consistently provided pounds of methamphetamine to the trafficking organization in Luzerne County, fueling the illegal drug trade in the area. The scale and regularity of these activities highlighted Sabatel’s central role within the operation and underscored the danger his actions posed to public safety.

The prosecution of the case was handled by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Hardik, Chief Deputy Attorney General Angela Sperrazza, and Deputy Attorney General Thomas Hogans. Their legal expertise, combined with the coordinated efforts of state and local law enforcement, played a crucial role in dismantling this significant supply chain of illegal drugs.
