WILMINGTON, DE — The Delaware State Police have arrested three Newark residents in connection with a series of thefts from All Saints Cemetery on Kirkwood Highway, where nearly 200 bronze vases were allegedly stolen from gravestones.
The incidents, which took place between September and November 2024, involved four suspects reportedly entering the cemetery after hours, removing ceremonial vases from grave markers, and fleeing the scene with the stolen items. Authorities estimate the value of the stolen property to exceed $100,000.
An investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly sold the stolen vases at a New Castle recycling center on multiple occasions, using another individual’s identification to complete the transactions.
On February 19, 2025, troopers executed search and arrest warrants at a residence in Newark, taking 34-year-old Thomas Hudson, 32-year-old Ashley Newcomb, and 37-year-old Alonza Mosley into custody without incident. A fourth suspect remains unidentified, and the investigation is ongoing.
The three individuals face multiple charges, including theft of property valued at $100,000 or more, selling stolen goods, and conspiracy. Following their arraignments, Hudson and Mosley were committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, while Newcomb was placed at Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution. Bonds were set at over $23,000 for Hudson and Mosley, and nearly $25,000 for Newcomb.
Authorities urge anyone with additional information about the case to contact Delaware State Police Troop 6 or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
