WILMINGTON, DE — Two men have been arrested and face drug-related charges following an investigation by Wilmington Police into products allegedly infused with THC.

On January 8, officers responded to a business in the 700 block of South Union Street after receiving a complaint about potentially THC-laced products. Members of the Wilmington Police Department’s (WPD) Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division conducted a search at the location, uncovering over 1,500 grams and 42 milliliters of suspected THC-infused items. The investigation progressed with support from Delaware Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement, which conducted further testing on the confiscated substances.

Police later executed a search warrant that led to the arrest of 18-year-old Mohammed Mohammed-Gaber. Authorities seized an additional 1,754 grams of THC-infused products and $2,096 in cash from the scene. Shortly afterward, 38-year-old Essam Alowishah was also taken into custody without incident.

Mohammed-Gaber faces several charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in Tier 2 quantities, conspiracy in the second degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released on $17,500 unsecured bail.

Alowishah has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, intent to deliver in Tier 2 quantities, and conspiracy in the second degree. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released after posting $4,000 cash-only bail.

Authorities emphasize that all allegations are under investigation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
