Terrifying Night for Uber Driver: Teens Carjack and Rob Him in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DEDelaware State Police are investigating a robbery that took place early Sunday morning involving an Uber driver who was attacked and had his vehicle stolen.

The incident occurred on April 13, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., in the area of Dock View Drive and Harbor View Drive. The Uber driver had arrived to pick up a passenger when seven individuals entered his vehicle. After the driver explained that he could not accommodate the group due to capacity limits, the situation escalated.

According to investigators, several individuals in the group became disorderly and refused to exit the car. When the driver stepped out to contact 911, three suspects reportedly threw him to the ground, seized his cell phone, and fled the scene in his black Nissan sedan. The driver was fortunately unharmed.

Authorities have described the suspects as high school-aged males and females. Their investigation is ongoing as detectives work to gather more information regarding the suspects and the stolen vehicle.

Police emphasized that allegations are under investigation and anyone accused remains innocent until proven guilty in court.
