POTTSTOWN, PA — Authorities are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred at the Boscov’s Department Store in Pottstown on the evening of December 22, 2024.

According to the North Coventry Township Police Department, officers responded to the store, located at 351 W. Schuylkill Road, shortly after 7:00 p.m. following reports of an armed individual. Preliminary details indicate that a man entered the store, displayed a handgun, and carried out the alleged robbery.

The suspect reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money from the store’s registers before fleeing the area. Police are now working in collaboration with investigators from nearby jurisdictions to determine whether this incident is connected to similar cases within the region.

Authorities have described the suspect as a black male, though additional identifying details have not yet been released. Investigators are asking anyone with information related to this incident to come forward by submitting a tip online or contacting Officer Machese at vmachese@norcopd.org.
