NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into an armed robbery that took place at a financial services business in Newark on the morning of December 23, 2024.
According to law enforcement, officers responded to the Check ‘n Go located at 27 Chestnut Hill Plaza around 11:10 a.m. after receiving a report of a robbery. Preliminary findings indicate that a male suspect entered the business, displayed a firearm, and demanded money from an employee. The employee reportedly complied with the demands, and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police have described the individual as a black male dressed in dark-colored clothing. While surveillance footage has not yet been made available, detectives with Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit are actively working on the case.
