WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have apprehended a 16-year-old male in connection with an ongoing investigation regarding a stolen firearm. The arrest occurred on November 2, at approximately 5:57 p.m., as officers were actively pursuing leads in the 2700 block of Bowers Street.
During the operation, the young suspect attempted to evade law enforcement by fleeing the scene on foot. However, officers swiftly managed to detain him without further incident. Upon his arrest, a loaded .380-caliber firearm, reported stolen from Virginia, was recovered by the police.
The teenager is facing several charges, including carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and resisting arrest. Following his arraignment in New Castle County Family Court, he has been remanded to the New Castle County Detention Center with bail set at $20,500 cash-only.
As the investigation continues, it is essential to emphasize that all allegations remain accusations at this stage. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
