WILMINGTON, DE — An 18-year-old Wilmington resident has been arrested in connection with multiple stolen vehicle investigations spanning northern New Castle County. The arrest follows months of investigative work by local authorities.
Police identified Alexander Corona as a suspect in a series of vehicle thefts that took place between April and October 2024. The incidents occurred across several neighborhoods, including Paladin Club, High Point, Phillips Heights, Chateau Orleans Apartments, and River Ridge Townhomes in Wilmington, as well as Claymont Terrace and River Club Apartments in Claymont.
Law enforcement connected Corona to multiple stolen vehicles, including Hyundais, Kias, Fords, and Chevrolets, during this time period. On February 23, 2025, officers located Corona at a residence on the unit block of Pennewell Drive in Wilmington, where they took him into custody without reported incident.
Following his arrest, Corona was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he faced formal charges. These include six felony counts of receiving stolen property valued over $1,500, three felony counts of second-degree conspiracy, and one felony count of attempted motor vehicle theft.
Corona was later arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11. He was remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post a $20,000 secured bail.
