Teen Accused of Armed Robbery Nabbed in Wilmington Police Raid

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington police have apprehended a 14-year-old male juvenile in connection with an alleged armed robbery that occurred earlier this month.

According to authorities, the incident was reported on January 13, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m. Officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of West 6th Street to investigate the report. The case was later assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Through the course of the investigation, Detective Nolan identified the juvenile as a suspect and obtained arrest warrants. The suspect was reportedly taken into custody without incident on January 17 during the execution of a search warrant at an address in the 1300 block of East 16th Street.

The juvenile now faces several charges, including first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He has been arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and is being held at the New Castle County Detention Center on $10,000 cash-only bail.

Officials remind the public that the charges are allegations, and the juvenile is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Further updates may be released as the case proceeds.
