PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division is requesting assistance from the public in identifying a suspect linked to the alleged theft of a duffle bag that contained a personal firearm.
The incident reportedly occurred on the evening of December 14, 2024, at a location on the 900 block of Market Street. According to authorities, the victim, a 27-year-old male, placed his black Adidas duffle bag in a designated room inside an establishment at approximately 6:19 p.m. The bag reportedly contained a jacket, food, a personal firearm, and an additional magazine.
The victim returned to retrieve the bag around 8 p.m. but discovered it was missing. Surveillance footage from the area reportedly shows an unidentified individual leaving the premises with the duffle bag in question.
Police have described the suspect as a white male who was last seen wearing a dark jacket, tan pants, and black sneakers. Authorities believe the individual may be an unhoused person who frequents the area.
The firearm involved in this incident is identified as a black Taurus Compact G2C 9mm with the serial number 1C110695.
Officials urge community members not to approach the suspect if they encounter him but to contact 911 immediately.
