WEST CHESTER, PA — Authorities announced the arrest of Anthony Burns, 37, of Spring City, PA, for allegations of unlawful sexual contact with minors under sixteen. The Chester County District Attorney’s Office and Chester County Detectives are leading the case.
Burns faces charges including statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and unlawful contact with minors. The arrest follows an investigation revealing that Burns allegedly used his position at a Burger King in East Pikeland Township to find and groom his victims, who were co-workers at the restaurant.
Magisterial District Judge John Hipple arraigned Burns on July 29, 2024, setting a cash bail of $150,000. On Thursday, Burns waived his preliminary hearing.
Chester County District Attorney Christopher L. de Barrena-Sarobe said, “This Defendant had sex with one child and groomed another. Our teenagers should be able to participate in work-related activities without the fear of being subjected to this kind of despicable behavior. If you have any information about this investigation, please contact the Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866 immediately.”
According to the criminal complaint, Burns assaulted two teens. Between December 2023 and February 2024, he allegedly snuck into Child Victim #1’s residence twice, climbed through her bedroom window, and engaged in sexual intercourse with her.
Child Victim #2 reported that Burns sent sexually explicit text messages over a month, including a sexual photo of himself. Burns also allegedly groped her clothing while she exited a booth at the Burger King.
The Chester County Detectives are the lead investigating agency. Assistant District Attorney Madeline Good is prosecuting the case. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866.
