NEWARK, DE — Six teenagers were arrested in connection with a fight that took place earlier this month at Glasgow High School, according to Delaware State Police.

The incident occurred on January 15, 2025, around 12:50 p.m., when a School Resource Officer and school staff responded to a brawl in the hallway of the school on South College Avenue. Authorities say the altercation involved six students, ranging from 16 to 17 years old, who allegedly engaged in mutual physical violence.

During the fight, officials allege that a 16-year-old male from New Castle and a 17-year-old male from Newark repeatedly kicked a 17-year-old student from Bear. That student was transported to a nearby hospital, treated, and later released. Another 17-year-old student from Bear was also allegedly kicked and was assessed by the school nurse before being released to their guardian.

Following a thorough investigation, on January 27, authorities secured warrants for the 16-year-old from New Castle and the 17-year-old from Newark. Both teens later turned themselves in at Troop 2 and were charged with second-degree assault, among other offenses. The remaining four students face misdemeanor charges related to the altercation.

All six students were arraigned or issued criminal summonses and released to their guardians. Delaware State Police emphasized that criminal charges are allegations, and all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
