Shooting Incident on Pulaski Highway Under Investigation by Delaware State Police

NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police Detectives are currently investigating a reported shooting incident that took place on Sunday afternoon in Newark. The event was reported at around 1:21 p.m. on November 17, 2024, involving an altercation between two drivers on Pulaski Highway.

Preliminary inquiries reveal that the victim, a 37-year-old male, encountered a confrontation with an unidentified individual driving a separate vehicle as he traveled westbound on Pulaski Highway between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. The altercation escalated when the suspect, driving a dark blue four-door sedan, allegedly lowered the front passenger side window and discharged a firearm at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then reportedly fled the scene via Pleasant Valley Road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, despite the victim’s vehicle being struck by gunfire.

At this stage, there is limited information available regarding the suspect, and no surveillance footage or images have been released to assist with the investigation.
