Shocking Allegations: Oxford Woman Accused of Assaulting Elderly Victim with a Cane!

OXFORD, PA — The Oxford Police Department is currently addressing an incident involving an alleged assault that transpired on September 1, 2024. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Market Street following a report of an assault against an elderly female.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials encountered the victim, who reported that an unknown woman had forcibly taken her walking cane and subsequently pushed her to the ground. As a result, the victim incurred injuries and required transportation to the hospital by emergency medical services.

Witnesses at the scene identified the alleged perpetrator as 29-year-old Christine Berardocco of Oxford. Authorities obtained video surveillance footage that reportedly corroborates the victim’s account and witness statements. On October 22, 2024, the Oxford District Court issued a criminal arrest warrant against Berardocco. She was swiftly apprehended, processed at the Oxford Police Department, and then transported to the Oxford District Court for arraignment. Berardocco was released on a $5,000 unsecured bail, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 12, 2024.

Berardocco faces multiple charges, including robbery, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property. It is important to note that these charges are merely allegations; Berardocco, like all individuals accused of crimes, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
