NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a shooting that reportedly occurred early Sunday morning at the Biden Welcome Center on John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway.
Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 7 a.m. on December 1, 2024, after receiving reports of a shooting in the parking lot. Preliminary findings indicate that a 45-year-old man from Goshen, New York, traveling through the area had stopped at the service station when an unknown individual or individuals approached him. The victim was reportedly robbed and subsequently shot during the encounter.
Troopers arriving at the scene found the victim lying outside the Starbucks at the welcome center. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
