Pottstown Woman Charged with Retail Theft in North Coventry

POTTSTOWN, PA — The North Coventry Township Police Department arrested a woman on retail theft charges. The alleged incident occurred at approximately 12:11 p.m. on September 16, 2023, when officers responded to a retail theft in progress at Giant, located at 86 Glocker Way.

The suspect, identified as a white female, was reported to have selected items and left the store without offering payment. Witnesses on the scene last saw the woman leaving the store’s parking lot in a silver Ford Escape.

Shortly after the report, North Coventry police officers located the vehicle on S. Hanover St. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kathleen Campbell, a 62-year-old resident of Pottstown.

Campbell was taken into custody without incident. Following standard procedures, she was processed and subsequently released. The North Coventry Police Department has charged Campbell with one count of retail theft, a misdemeanor under Pennsylvania law.

Campbell is scheduled to appear for her preliminary hearing in front of Judge Hipple at District Court 15-3-01 on October 26, 2023.
