WILMINGTON, DE — The New Castle County Division of Police is investigating a series of alleged vehicle break-ins and an attempted theft at the Evergreen Apartments at Riverfront Heights early Saturday morning, March 15, 2025.

At approximately 3:08 a.m., officers responded to reports of individuals tampering with vehicles in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers observed two suspects wearing ski masks near a Kia Sorento. One suspect stood outside the vehicle while the other was seated inside. When police activated emergency lights, the suspect outside the vehicle fled toward Homestead Road, followed by two others who exited the car’s rear passenger seat.

Following a brief foot chase, officers apprehended a 13-year-old male, identified by his distinctive orange cheetah-print pajama jumpsuit. A second suspect, a 14-year-old female, later returned to the scene and was taken into custody. Both juveniles are from Wilmington. The third suspect remains at large, and police are working to confirm their identity.

The investigation revealed multiple vehicles had been damaged during an attempted theft. The two juveniles face numerous charges, including four felony counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, burglary, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and loitering.

After arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, the 13-year-old male was released on $63,300 unsecured bail, and the 14-year-old female on $5,000 unsecured bail.
