PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an alleged attempted robbery near 1200 Filbert Street on January 14, 2025.
According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. when the suspect approached the complainant, requesting cigarettes. After the complainant declined, the suspect allegedly responded with aggression, head-butting the victim, biting her finger, and attempting to seize her purse. The attempt was unsuccessful, but the suspect reportedly took the victim’s hat and wig before leaving the area.
The suspect is described as a Black female wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, gray New Balance sneakers, and carrying a red bag.
Authorities have released video footage of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to contact the Central Detective Division. Det. Andracchio is handling the case under Reference Number DC#25-09-006321. Tips can be submitted confidentially by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477) or texting the same number.
Officials stress that this information concerns allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Citizens are advised not to approach the individual but to contact 911 if they see her.
