PHILADELPHIA, PA — Nyesha D. Paris, also known as Nyesha D. Henderson and Nyesha D. Jackson, was sentenced to 20 months in prison on April 22 for her role in a series of financial fraud schemes that spanned several years. U.S. District Judge Joel H. Slomsky also ordered Paris to serve five years of supervised release, pay restitution totaling $545,993, forfeit $84,008, and complete 150 hours of community service.

Between 2018 and 2023, Paris orchestrated fraudulent activities that caused losses of more than $600,000 to 15 victims. Among these was a scheme to steal over $40,000 in merchandise and gift cards from Lowe’s Home Improvement using a shell company and fraudulent accounts. She also obtained over $120,000 in pandemic relief loans through the Paycheck Protection Program by falsely inflating payroll figures and submitting fake certifications.

Further, Paris fraudulently billed Medicaid nearly $150,000 for home health services that were never rendered. Despite being confronted by the FBI and informed she was under investigation, she continued to engage in fraudulent conduct.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Paris’s sentencing is a clear message that such fraudulent behavior will face serious legal consequences.
