DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Pennsylvania State Police from the Embreeville Barracks are on the hunt for a suspect involved in an identity theft case in West Bradford Township, Chester County.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at the Best Buy store located at 10 Quarry Road, Downingtown. The suspect reportedly visited the store on September 24 and 26, 2023, using the victim’s information to look up her Best Buy credit card details. The individual then purchased several electronics, racking up a total of $2,596.96.

The suspect is described as a white female, possibly in her 50s, of average build, with a distinctive hunchback. She was observed using a bright blue cane. After completing the fraudulent purchases, the woman was seen leaving the parking lot in a black Ford Focus. The car’s registration details remain unknown.

This incident underlines the growing concern over identity theft and related crimes in the area. The Pennsylvania State Police are urging residents to be vigilant about their personal information and to report suspicious activities promptly.
