Parkesburg Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Florida Fugitive

PARKESBURG, PA – Police in Parkesburg arrested a fugitive wanted in Florida during a routine traffic stop on the morning of April 26, 2025. The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Louis S. Knecht, was taken into custody on an active warrant issued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

The arrest occurred around 9:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Church Street, where officers lawfully detained Knecht. Following confirmation of the warrant, authorities in Florida indicated full extradition, enabling the transfer of the suspect across state lines.

After his arrest, Knecht was transported to the Chester County Prison. He is being held pending extradition, during which he will be returned to Florida to face charges. No additional details about the warrant or charges have been disclosed at this time.
