PARKESBURG, PA — The Parkesburg Borough Police Department has made a significant arrest related to an armed robbery incident from earlier this year. Kenneth R. Johnson Jr., 28, was taken into custody on November 3, 2023, charged with armed robbery and related offenses.

Based on a criminal complaint, the incident in question occurred on or about April 30, 2023, in the 500 block of West First Avenue. Further investigation led police officers to develop information regarding Johnson concealing a handgun in his waistband in May of 2023, while in the 300 block of West Main Street.

As a result of these findings, a search warrant was executed at Johnson’s residence located in the 500 block of West First Avenue on October 19, 2023. The search resulted in the recovery of evidence linked to illegal drug sales and an illegal firearm.

Johnson is expected to face a preliminary hearing at the Parkesburg District Court. The scheduling of this hearing is pending at this time.

Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
