Pair Arrested in Wilmington After Alleged Drug Bust Nets Marijuana and Cash

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have charged two men following their alleged involvement in drug-related activities observed late last month.

On November 29, at approximately 9:49 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting patrols in the 300 block of West 7th Street when they reportedly witnessed two individuals engaging in suspected drug activity. Officers approached 20-year-olds Javonte Waters and Kaevon Tucker, both of whom were taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, authorities seized 102 grams of marijuana, $407 in cash, and drug-related paraphernalia. Both men were charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following their arraignments at Justice of the Peace Court 11, Waters and Tucker were each released after posting $7,200 cash-only bail.

Police emphasize that allegations, arrests, and criminal complaints are not definitive evidence of guilt. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
