NEWARK, DE — A fatal shooting on Sunday afternoon has left a 19-year-old man dead, prompting an active investigation by the New Castle County Division of Police.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 3:06 p.m. on March 16, 2025, in the unit block of Clarion Court in the Kimberton community. Upon arrival, authorities found two homes struck by gunfire and later learned that a gunshot victim, identified as Jahliel Jackson, had been transported to Christiana Hospital by private vehicle. Despite medical efforts, Jackson succumbed to his injuries, caused by a wound to the upper body.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Evidence Detection Unit are leading the investigation.
