WILMINGTON, DE — A months-long investigation into illegal drug activity led to the arrest of a 54-year-old Wilmington man on March 21, 2025. Members of the Wilmington Police Department’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division executed a search warrant in the 2200 block of North Tatnall Street, culminating in the apprehension of Donald Sparks.
The investigation, which began earlier in March, focused on suspected illegal drug sales in the area. Authorities carried out the search warrant at approximately 11:11 a.m. During the operation, officers reportedly recovered a .38 caliber handgun, 1.9 grams of crack cocaine, and assorted drug paraphernalia. Sparks was taken into custody without incident at the scene.
Police have filed multiple charges against Sparks, including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 20, Sparks was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $16,200 secured bail.
Authorities emphasized that all charges remain allegations, and Sparks is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
