Manhunt Underway: Officer Attacked Amid Eagles Super Bowl Celebrations!

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities in Philadelphia are seeking public assistance in identifying two individuals accused of assaulting an on-duty police officer during the city’s Super Bowl celebrations. The incident occurred late Sunday evening, February 9, 2025, during ongoing festivities linked to the Philadelphia Eagles’ participation in the championship.

At approximately 10:52 p.m., a 52-year-old police officer, who was working in full uniform and utilizing a marked police motorcycle as part of the event’s security detail, was struck in the head by two unidentified males. The attack took place in a crowded area as the city celebrated the evening’s activities.

Following the altercation, both suspects fled the scene. Investigators have obtained descriptions of the individuals involved. One suspect was reportedly wearing all black clothing, while the other was wearing an Eagles jersey bearing the number six. Surveillance footage from the area is aiding the investigation as detectives work to identify and locate those responsible.

The Central Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is leading the investigation. Officials are encouraging community members to assist by coming forward with any information regarding the assault or the whereabouts of the individuals matching the descriptions.
