OXFORD, PA — Authorities are seeking the whereabouts of a Wilmington man after he failed to appear for a criminal trial regarding an alleged fraud incident in Chester County.

Mark Anthony Simpson, 62, is accused of presenting a check for $6,319.62 to Oxford Feed and Lumber on June 8, 2024. According to reports, the check was returned for insufficient funds. Despite repeated attempts by both the victim and the Oxford Police Department to resolve the matter without legal action, charges of fraud were subsequently filed on July 26, 2024.

Simpson did not attend his preliminary hearing on September 3, 2024, leading to the charges being escalated to the Court of Common Pleas. Most recently, Simpson failed to appear for his January 14, 2025, trial, prompting the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest.

Simpson is described as a 62-year-old Black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 176 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities encourage anyone with information about his location to contact their local police department.

It is important to note that all allegations against Simpson are under investigation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
