Man Stabbed in Wilmington Morning Attack – Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail

WILMINGTON, DE — A suspect has been taken into custody following a stabbing incident reported Tuesday morning in Wilmington.

At approximately 8:41 a.m. on March 26, officers from the Wilmington Police Department‘s Uniformed Services Division responded to reports of a stabbing on the 2700 block of North Washington Street. Upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old male victim who had sustained injuries from the attack. The individual was transported to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Shortly after responding to the scene, law enforcement identified and apprehended 58-year-old Alvin Woods in the same block without further incident. Authorities have since charged Woods with multiple offenses, including Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony and Second-Degree Assault.

According to police, Woods was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and subsequently released on $22,500 unsecured bail.

The victim’s condition remains stable, and the investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing. Police have not provided further details at this time.

Officials emphasized the presumption of innocence, stating that all individuals charged with alleged crimes are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
