WILMINGTON, DE — A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglary incidents in Wilmington following an extensive investigation by law enforcement.

The Wilmington Police Department reported that officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to three burglary-related calls over the past few months. The first occurred on December 29, 2024, in the 300 block of Cedar Street. The second was reported on February 10, 2025, in the 200 block of Stroud Street, while the third took place on February 20, 2025, again in the 300 block of Cedar Street.

The cases were assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division, who, through detailed investigative efforts, identified Jaleel Carter as a suspect. Warrants were subsequently issued for Carter’s arrest.

On March 4, Carter was apprehended without incident and taken into custody. He now faces several charges, including burglary in the second degree, attempted burglary in the second degree, and receiving stolen property under $1,500.

Following his arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Carter was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. His bail has been set at $6,000 cash-only.

Authorities emphasize that all allegations remain under investigation and that Carter, like all suspects, is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
