WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of financial fraud totaling approximately $7,000, police announced.

On January 17, around 12 p.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 100 block of South West Street after being alerted to a suspected fraud incident. Upon arrival, authorities were informed of a theft involving significant financial losses. The case was subsequently assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division for further analysis.

Through investigative efforts, Detective Hayman identified 31-year-old Shaquille Langlois as the primary suspect in the case. Arrest warrants were issued, and on February 3, Wilmington Police apprehended Langlois without incident on the 300 block of Spike Drive.

Langlois now faces a series of charges, including Theft Over $1,500, Attempted Theft Over $1,500, Unlawful Use of a Payment Card Over $1,500, and Attempt to Commit Unlawful Use of a Payment Card Over $1,500.

After being arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20, Langlois was released on $8,000 unsecured bail.

Authorities stress that criminal complaints and charges are merely allegations at this stage. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Further details may arise as more information becomes available
