Kennett Square Woman Faces Charges for Uninvited Entry into Residence

Arrest

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A surprising encounter at a local residence has led to charges against a 38-year-old woman, according to the Kennett Square Police Department. The incident occurred midday on April 18, 2024, when police were called to a home in the 300 block of Meredith Street following reports of an unexpected visitor.

According to the homeowners, they discovered Anita Hersh standing silently in their kitchen after hearing the floor creak. Hersh reportedly stated she had simply come to “say hey” without making her presence known by knocking or announcing herself upon arrival. The residents indicated that they had no prior anticipation of Hersh’s visit and expressed a desire not to communicate with her at the time.

Following the police investigation, Hersh was charged with burglary and criminal trespass, with the case set to proceed to a preliminary hearing at District Court 15-3-04.

It is important to remember that these charges represent allegations against Hersh. As with any individual accused of a crime, she is presumed innocent until proven guilty through the judicial process.
