Kennett Square Police Files Charges Against Local Man for Ongoing Harassment

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department has filed charges against a local man, Juan Castro-Fernandez, following an ongoing harassment issue.

The incident was first reported on September 21, 2023, at 8:38 PM. The victim, residing in the 400 block of Juniper Street, Kennett Square Borough, reported that their ex-boyfriend, Castro-Fernandez, had been causing disturbances at their residence in Avondale.

The victim advised officers that Castro-Fernandez had shown up uninvited, yelling obscenities through the door and threatening to kill both them and their current boyfriend. This behavior, as reported by the victim, has been a recurring issue for several months. The victim had previously contacted the police, alleging that Castro-Fernandez had waited outside their residence threatening their life and the safety of their child.

The victim was able to provide officers with multiple text messages from Castro-Fernandez, further substantiating the threatening nature of his behavior.

Following the investigation, the Kennett Square Police Department completed a criminal complaint and filed charges of Terroristic Threats, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct at District Court 15-3-04 against Castro-Fernandez. He was arrested on September 30, 2023. The case has been assigned the report ID# KS-23-009250.
