KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A 20-year-old man has been taken into custody relating to charges of institutional vandalism in Kennett Square, marking the continuation of a case that started with an incident late last year.
Kharee Brunson, who was wanted for failing to appear at his preliminary hearing, was apprehended by the Valley Township Police Department and subsequently transferred to Chester County Prison on April 24, 2024.
The origins of Brunson’s charges stem from an event reported on October 30, 2023. Kennett Square Police responded to a call at approximately 8:30 AM concerning vandalism at a parking garage located at 100 E. Linden Street. Upon investigation, authorities were notified of a broken glass pane on the structure’s top floor. Further review of surveillance footage from the scene led to the identification of Brunson as the suspect, who was observed throwing an object through a window, resulting in the damage.
Following the incident, a criminal complaint was filed against Brunson on November 3, 2023, leading to charges of institutional vandalism among other related offenses. The case was officially registered at District Court 15-3-04, which also issued the arrest warrant upon Brunson’s failure to attend the scheduled court date on January 3, 2024.
It is crucial to note that the arrest and subsequent charges lodged against Brunson are allegations at this stage. Like all individuals facing legal accusations, Brunson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
