HARRISBURG, PA — Marc Brown, 67, of Allegheny County, has been sentenced to 12 to 30 years in state prison for the repeated sexual abuse of two children between 2004 and 2006. The sentencing took place on Thursday in Allegheny County Court following Brown’s guilty plea to multiple felony charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, and related misdemeanors.

The charges against Brown were brought by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General after the 49th Statewide Investigating Grand Jury heard testimony about multiple cases of child sexual abuse involving members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Brown, who was a congregation member at the time, was closely acquainted with the victims and assaulted them on numerous occasions.

According to testimony presented to the grand jury, Brown’s abuse included incidents of groping, secretly entering a bedroom to assault the children at night, and watching them shower.

“This defendant ultimately could not escape accountability for heinous conduct perpetrated years ago, thanks to the hard work of investigators and the grand jurors, and the bravery of the survivors,” said Attorney General Dave Sunday. “This significant period of incarceration is appropriate for someone who repeatedly harms children.”

The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Alicia Werner. Brown’s sentence marks a closing chapter in a case rooted in years of trauma for the survivors, who demonstrated courage throughout the legal process.
