Investigation Underway in Coatesville after Fatal Shooting; Victim Identified

COATESVILLE, PA — The Coatesville Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on East Diamond Street last Friday night, March 8, 2024. The victim has now been identified as 28-year-old Amere Naylor.

Patrol officers initially responded to a call reporting gunfire in the 700 block of East Diamond Street at approximately 7:55 PM. Upon their arrival, they discovered a deceased black male who had suffered gunshot wounds. The Chester County Coroner’s Office worked to confirm Naylor’s identity and notify his family.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, with the assistance of Chester County Detectives and the District Attorney’s Office. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
