Identity Theft Scheme Lands Man Behind Bars: Older Adult Exploited for Over $200,000

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department announced that a 57-year-old man was arrested on June 13, 2023, in connection to an identity theft/theft scheme after an extensive yearlong investigation.

Peter Aleszczyk of West Chester has been charged with Identity Theft, Forgery, Theft by Deception, Receiving Stolen Property, and numerous additional related crimes.

The criminal complaint alleges Peter Aleszczyk, who owns “KP Holdings LLC,” was offered temporary residency at the victim’s home at a time of need. Aleszcayk then exploited the older adult victim’s generosity by defrauding the victim while he was alive and continued the scheme after his death. Peter Aleszczyk used over $157,000.00 from the victim’s retirement account, charged over $39,000.00 in credit card transactions using the victim’s identity, opened $11,000.00 in home equity loans under the victim’s identity, and attempted to transfer the victim’s home into his name after his death.

Peter Aleszczyk was arraigned by Honorable Judge Martin G. Goch where bail was set at 10 percent of $250,000.00. Aleszczyk failed to post bail and was transported to Chester County Prison pending a preliminary hearing.
