NEW CASTLE, DE — Delaware State Police announced the arrests of two Wilmington residents, a 17-year-old male and 19-year-old LeShaun Bradley, in connection with a stolen vehicle incident that led to a pursuit early Wednesday morning.
On January 15, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., authorities responded to a report of a stolen black Acura MDX spotted near New Castle Avenue and Rogers Road. Shortly after locating the vehicle, officers confirmed it had been reported stolen from Pennsylvania.
When troopers attempted a traffic stop, the driver allegedly fled at high speeds toward Interstate 495. The pursuit was discontinued after the vehicle entered a residential neighborhood and was reportedly driven recklessly. Shortly thereafter, the Acura was found abandoned on Polk Road in Edgemoor.
Following a search, police apprehended two individuals on Bedford Drive after a brief foot chase. The 17-year-old driver and Bradley, the passenger, were both taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses.
The 17-year-old faces charges including receiving stolen property over $1,500, conspiracy, disregarding a police signal, and traffic violations. He is held at the New Castle County Detention Center on a $7,500 cash bond.
Bradley has been charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500, conspiracy, and resisting arrest. He is held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $5,000 cash bond.
Officials stress that all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities note that future updates may become available as more details emerge.
