Help Identify Love Park Thieves Caught in Brazen Copper Wire Heist

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department‘s Central Detective Division is asking for assistance from the community in identifying four individuals suspected of involvement in the alleged theft of copper wire at Love Park on February 1, 2025.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m., when a surveillance camera captured one of the suspects, referred to as Suspect #1, removing a section of copper wire from the Portal Machine at 1501 JFK Boulevard. The individual was observed carrying the wire away in a large green and yellow trash can, accompanied by three other suspects who left the area alongside them.

The police have released a video clip containing images of the suspects and are urging anyone who recognizes the individuals or has relevant information to come forward.
