Heartbreaking Tragedy: 15-Year-Old Shot Dead on Philadelphia Bus, Suspects on the Run

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the homicide of a 15-year-old male who was fatally shot aboard a SEPTA bus over the weekend. Authorities are working to identify four individuals captured on surveillance footage in connection with the incident.

The shooting occurred on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at approximately 1:05 p.m., near 40th Street and Girard Avenue. Following the shooting, the suspects fled westbound on Girard Avenue toward 41st Street. According to investigators, three of the individuals boarded the bus near Girard and Ridge Avenues, with a fourth suspect joining later in the trip.

Authorities have released surveillance video excerpts showing the four individuals and are urging the public to assist in identifying them. A spokesman for the Philadelphia Police Department emphasized the urgency of the investigation, warning residents not to approach the suspects if seen but to contact 911 immediately.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for every homicide.
