WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been charged with a felony following allegations of an armed robbery tied to a shoplifting incident at a Royal Farms convenience store last month.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred on December 21, 2024, at approximately 9:27 p.m. Authorities allege that an unidentified man attempted to leave the Royal Farms on Kirkwood Highway without paying for concealed merchandise. When confronted by store employees, the suspect reportedly displayed a handgun and made threats before fleeing the scene in a blue sedan driven by another individual.
After a subsequent investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 28-year-old Thomas Lowe of Wilmington. A warrant for his arrest was issued, and on January 2, 2025, Lowe was located and taken into custody without incident.
Lowe has been charged with one count of first-degree robbery, a felony offense. Following arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution with bail set at $60,000 cash.
Law enforcement emphasizes that all charges remain allegations, and Thomas Lowe is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
